Lilly Lewis Hats

I did a wonderful photo shoot with the VERY talented Candee Photography, modelling a few of Lilly Lewis’ fine creations. From showgirl chic to Ascot ready, we had a superb time in the studio! I don’t get to do my dramatic 1930’s makeup that often, so reveled in the chance to test out my basic skills for the film noir era.

Here are some of the images I have managed to work on so far. All effects and backgrounds (yes, even Metropolis!) have been created from scratch by myself and balance Candee’s wonderful camera skills.

Enjoy!

All I can say is BRING YOUR WELLIES (or your ‘Rubbers’ as my American friend Stephanie calls them…hee hee hee!).

The fields are water-logged, the dirt will be churned from vehicle movement and foot glamour will be on hold this year!

Contrary to most people’s thoughts on the classic green, the first Dunlop Wellington Boots were matte black rubber, so if you have some, bring them for an authentic touch!

Why not tuck some trousers into them for a Women’s Land Army Look? Don’t forget to carry some dance shoes in your bag/ wicker basket for some much needed dancing in the main marquee!

Also, more great news is that some of the original cast from ‘Allo ‘Allo will be doing a skit in the main marquee at around 2pm on a  few days of the event! Im mortified that I will be getting changed for my performance at 2.30pm at that point, but so glad they will be back again as they were a hoot last year!

Well, I will be there from Wednesday to Sunday, performing every day and some evenings, so I hope you catch a performance. Most of the child friendly performances will be my Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy performance, with an improved costume! This was the first act I ever did with the USO Shows and it will be nice to bring it back again. My new Lili Mewleen act will mostly be used for the adult evening shows, but I will do some family friendly shows too.

See you there Catnips!

I HATE diets. Im not a fan of exercise either. I think being someone who’s weeks and weekends are so jam packed (especially with wedding stuff on top!), I am mentally exhausted at the end of it and it takes all my will power to get on that stepper machine.

I don’t want to crack nuts with my thighs, I just want to get them back into my trousers!

To help me along a little with trimming my muffin tops ready for the wedding, I decided to be a good girl and curb my nibbling, eating a bowl of cereal in the morning, raw veg and humous with a glass of chocolate Soya Milk (Im allowed a treat thank you!) for lunch and then some kind of equally dull dinner.

I don’t know what I was expecting to see in the longest 4 days of my life…maybe for my body to eat my bum fat like a cannibal on an all-you-can-eat nudist beach…but nothing, not even a wobble waving a white flag.

Im still struggling with my trousers and willpower. Why is it that when you need to be good, fresh tiger bread twirls it’s fragrant tassels at me and chocolate souffle’s give me a ‘come hither’ smile through their foil topped lids. The cullinary cads.
