GWSR 1940’s Weekend Steam Railway

Well, you may’ve seen a familiar face on all the GWSR advertising for this weekend!

I am back at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway on Saturday only, entertaining you as you embark the train at Cheltenham Racecourse Station. The GWSR Wartime Weekend is a wonderful 1940’s themed event spread across various stations. Entertainers, military and civilian reenactors all help to bring the era to life.

You can see me sing some 1940’s classics at 9.30, 10.30, 11.30 and 12.30 as you board the train for your exciting day to the past.

Vintage Photoshoot with CSN Photography at GWSR

In early March I had the pleasure of working with Chris Nicholls of CSN Photography! We visited the beautiful and peaceful GWSR as they prepared for yet another busy season. The weather was questionable, but we made the most of the odd sunny spell between the showers!

So here are my top pick pics for you! In the 1940’s themed images I am wearing an original 40’s swing coat, crepe dress and hat. The shoes are from Johnson’s Originals. In the 50’s/60’s images I am wearing an original novelty print vintage dress and Clark’s Shoes.

I am very much looking forward to shooting with CSN Photography again. As he is used to frequenting at vintage military events, Chris has a keen eye for detail! It’s a shame we couldn’t shoot more of the dress, but it was flipping cold at this point and the weather was really turning!

The Farm Stratford upon Avon

Well today was the grand opening of our new local farm shop.

A posh deli affair with meat and fish counters, tapas, bakery, wines, handmade chocolate, pasta, fresh fruit and vegetables, beautiful flowers, a cafe (with stone baked pizza!), cookery courses and play areas for the kiddies.

This isn’t somewhere to go for your weekly shop, but makes for a superb afternoon out if you don’t want to battle the town traffic. Got a special meal to prepare? Or maybe looking for somewhere new and interesting to meet friends for tea and cake? This new farm shop is perfect and the presentation of goods is impeccable.

Betsy adored both play areas! The indoor area had a mini shop counter with toy produce, chalk boards and other bits. The outside features a wooden adventure playground flanked by 2 Wendy house structures. It has a slide and rope bridge to keep children amused, whilst you sip your coffee outside.

I think the farm shop will continue to grow. You can see their goats, Pamela the pig and some Donkeys, as well as a newly planted herb and vegetable garden. Let’s hope for some chickens and more!

I’m looking forward to more visits to The Farm Stratford, purely to taste more of the wonderful gluten free cakes! I had a piece of the passion fruit one and it was amazing! The pizza looked scrumptious too.
