Bloxham Steam Rally 2019
IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!!!! Due to technical difficulties at the site thismorning and problems with equipment this afternoon, I will now be performing at 4.30pm and 7 pm in the beer tent! Sorry for any inconvenience.
Just sheltering under one of the tents in the military section of Bloxham Steam Rally near Banbury!
I will be performing today at 2pm and 7pm (in the beer tent).
Tomorrow I just have an 11am performance as I have my parent’s Birthday to celebrate!

D Day 75th Anniversary Commemorations 2019
I’m a little confused about the programming and events surrounding D-Day. I’ve so far heard ‘celebration’ and ‘celebrating’ used several times AND some 1950’s dancers? This isn’t a celebration. I even came across a D Day dance at a military museum, listing it as ’40’s themed fun.’
This is remembrance of one of many horrific events of WW2. Yes, morale was an incredibly important part of the war effort, but we should be focusing on the real D Day events here. Young people losing their lives, some couldn’t swim and merely drowned getting off the ducks/ platforms, most were killed or wounded, scared out of their bloody mind. Men watched friends being blown apart right in front of their eyes on sand that we now sunbathe on. All for protecting our country from a man and his horrendous ideals.
Can we not treat this like some kind of Butlin’s special or regular 1940’s themed events? This is a remembrance and should be treated as such.
Tennessee Wig Walk

I’ve been singing it on the way to nursery school for a few weeks now and she loves it.
Stratford Festival of Motoring 2019

I haven’t been to the Stratford Festival of Motoring for at least 10 years. Many years ago, you just had to wonder down the little road on Waterside on a Saturday to see a plethora of amazing classic bikes, sports cars and rods. It was THE place to be seen with your customised vehicle and I remember drooling over Harley Davidson low riders and the odd classic car.

This tradition got banned because of complaints from the home owners. It was a shame, but understandable. Now, unless you like to sit in carparks, this car show is the best way to see some of the amazing vehicles that once could be found parked up in town.

I saw some really wonderful cars and campers, but would’ve preferred it if all the vintage vehicles had been in their own section. We found a few up Henley Street, a couple more at the market place and then a couple more in another road. I personally don’t want to have to look at suped up Ford Fiestas or the Mercedes posing cars you see every weekend going up Bridge Street. That’s just my view, I know others may prefer the modern or 90’s motors. I would just prefer it if the cars were sectioned into eras or types.

GWSR 1940’s Weekend Steam Railway
Well, you may’ve seen a familiar face on all the GWSR advertising for this weekend!
I am back at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway on Saturday only, entertaining you as you embark the train at Cheltenham Racecourse Station. The GWSR Wartime Weekend is a wonderful 1940’s themed event spread across various stations. Entertainers, military and civilian reenactors all help to bring the era to life.
You can see me sing some 1940’s classics at 9.30, 10.30, 11.30 and 12.30 as you board the train for your exciting day to the past.
Vintage Photoshoot with CSN Photography at GWSR
In early March I had the pleasure of working with Chris Nicholls of CSN Photography! We visited the beautiful and peaceful GWSR as they prepared for yet another busy season. The weather was questionable, but we made the most of the odd sunny spell between the showers!
So here are my top pick pics for you! In the 1940’s themed images I am wearing an original 40’s swing coat, crepe dress and hat. The shoes are from Johnson’s Originals. In the 50’s/60’s images I am wearing an original novelty print vintage dress and Clark’s Shoes.
I am very much looking forward to shooting with CSN Photography again. As he is used to frequenting at vintage military events, Chris has a keen eye for detail! It’s a shame we couldn’t shoot more of the dress, but it was flipping cold at this point and the weather was really turning!
Curiousity Game Show BBC1
A while back I was lucky enough to be asked onto a brand new BBC gameshow called Curiosity. Unfortunately I wasn’t there to win £1000, but to showcase some of my 1940’s collection and ask the contestants a handful of questions.
Hungry Gap Productions was filming in Bristol and I hadn’t got a clue what to expect. Everyone was really lovely (and flat out busy!), but the green room was comfy and I got to natter to people and pop Alan Partridge on the telly until I was up!
The sets were absolutely unbelievable. I could’ve stayed in there all day! Each 3 walled set was like a different room. From the attic where I was positioned, to the 60’s retro sitting room, you were immersed like some sort of antiques Crystal Maze.
Paul Martin has really upped his fashion game, by channeling his inner Laurence Llewelyn Bowen for Curiousity. Although his hair is cropped short, we are now seeing an abundance of patterned and floral shirts, nestled under waistcoats and jackets. A bloody lovely chap with a mutual love of Partridge, he did stop to snigger at the TV once in a while.
Whilst I was there in the green room, a couple did win a load of money, so I’m really looking forward to seeing the edited programme.
The series starts on 1st April 2019 on BBC1 and you can see my episode on 11th April at 2.15pm.

At the beginning of this year I had the honour of being part of a photoshoot at the Aston Tavern in Birmingham. Nestled underneath a flyover, surrounded by industry, this incredibly beautiful hotel and bar is an absolute oasis of vintage inside! It has a stunning bar and the rooms are all themed with vintage furniture, decor and beds!
Award winning hair stylist Karen D Bebbington did what she does best and we had the pleasure of being photographed by Gayle Bevan Photography!
I thoroughly enjoyed working with these wonderful ladies and posing with Jessica Hudson of the D Day Darling and my lovely friend Natalie Clarke.
