Well, if there is an afterlife, I wonder whether he will find it boring compared to what he created in his lifetime?!
Hugh Hefner has died at the respectable age of 91. An entrepreneur and iconic figure for his entire life, the Playboy Clubs, magazines, models, girlfriends, wives and Playboy Bunnies have been part of our lives since 1953. You only have to see the logo to know exactly what it is and represents.
I watched Girls of the Playboy Mansion religiously, with its dog poo littered carpets and girlfriends in various stages of further education; it was a bit of a mad house. They were given opportunities that some could only dream of, yet with it came rules such as curfews, no boyfriends and much more.
I respected Heff for the fact he built this amazing Playboy empire and was able to set all these rules for his harem around his own needs and desires. He treated them like girlfriends and daughters respectively, but you could sense the invisible wall he put between himself and the girls in the house. Hefner craved the attention and sexy women that had made him famous, but still wanted to be thought of as the world’s most famous bachelor (apart from being married).
Playboy won’t be the same without its founder, but I wonder how it will change now he is gone?
RIP Hefner xxx
